The training offers hands-on experience for undergraduate students of Kabul University in analyzing and using earth observation data and geospatial technologies for water resource management in Afghanistan. The training will cover basic concepts of water resource management, and theoretical and practical understanding of remote sensing (RS) and geographic information system (GIS), including watershed and drainage delineations, generation of meteorological data, and hydrological modelling.
Objective
The training aims to build the capacities of final-year undergraduate students from four faculties—Agriculture, Engineering, Environment and Geoscience on the use of earth observation data and geospatial technology for managing water resources in Afghanistan.
