Raleigh Police Department Launches Crime Mapping Tool




Raleigh, North Carolina Nov. 21, 2016- The Raleigh Police Department has launched an online crime-mapping tool that helps people to learn of crimes reported in areas that are of interest to them.

The crime data is automatically updated in the early morning hours every day, and it provides information on the vast majority of crime categories,such as Arson, Assault, Burglary, Disturbing the Peace, Drugs / Alcohol Violations, DUI, Fraud, Robbery, Theft / Larceny, Weapons, Vandalism etc.. In keeping with the department’s policy, information concerning rapes and most other sex offenses is not included on the maps. However, two types of sex crimes will appear – indecent exposures and peeping toms.
